Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil Review

Okay, Okay.....I, Red Velvet admit it...I am somewhat of a PJ (Product Junkie). But this time my PJism helped me find an  awesome product on accident. I was getting ready to hangout with my chica and I forgot my products -_- . I didn't have time to go back home to retrieve my oil. So, I ran out to the Target to find a cheap replacement oil because I refused to spend another 20 dollars for oil when I had a brand spanking new bottle of oil in the house. So I trolled up and down Target's hair care aisles. Until, I stumbled upon Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil in their ethnic hair care aisle.

There wasn't a price listed on the bottle or shelf. So, I walked over to the nearest price check machine and scanned the bottle. The price scanned the oil for $2.50!!. I had to do a double take on the price.  I have NEVER purchased  a herbal oil that cheap.  So, I scanned the herbal oil again (just to be sure...LOL).

I read the ingredients (which are listed below) and except for the synthetic preservatives are the rest of the ingredients are natural.

Ingredients:

Soybean Oil, Fragrance, Castor Seed Oil, t-butyl hydroquinone, Olive Fruit Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Tocopherol, Jojoba Seed Oil, Walnut Seed Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, Safflower Oil, Kiwi Fruit Extract, Comfrey Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Thyme Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Cucumber Fruit Extract, German Chamomile  Extract, Pot Marigold Flower Extract, Yarrow Extract, Sage Leaf Extract, Carrageenan Extract.

I still couldn't believe that herbal hair oil could be so cheap. Most hair oils that price are chalked full of chemicals and junk. I was scared to buy it because of the price. So, I stood there for a few minutes before I  finally decided to buy the oil.  I picked up a  bottle for myself and a couple of bottles to give  my little sister, Coco to take back to school with her.

Red Velvet's Verdict

                                                       *Drum Roll Please*

The Pros

I love that Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil is a multi-purpose oil that can be used for your hair, bath and body( Not that I would use it for bath purposes though). This oil keeps my scalp and hair moisturized. I haven't experienced any product build up yet. This oil is great to use as a Pre-poo or DT. The shelf life for Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil is about 24 months, which gives you more than plenty of time to use it. You definitely cannot beat the price $1.50-$2.99. I dare you to find  all natural oil that is awesome for less.

The Cons

If  you use too much it  can leave your hair too oily. So for me less is more.

Coco's Verdict

                                                        *Drum Roll Please*
The Pros

Great overnight treatment moisturizer

The Cons

This product doesn't keep my hair moisturized long. I find myself moisturizing my hair more than 3-4 times a week to keep moisture. It does work fine for over night moisturizing treatments, but because my hair tends to dry out quickly I'd try look for a heavy natural based product.

You can purchase it from StockN'Go for $2.56 or in bulk. You can also run up to your nearest Target (Like I did) or beauty supply store and purchase it for $1.50-2.99(depending on the store location).

Sending out an E.O.S

Yes, I have been sending out an E.O.S. LOL... I mean a S.O.S for a lip balm that would keep my lips soft and moisturized without that waxy feeling.  I have purchased endless lip balms with little or no success.  I am shopping in the beauty aisle @ Target looking for the latest lip balm to purchase. All of a sudden, my eye gets caught on some colorful cool looking spheres. So you know the PJ in me made me  pick the package up. It turns out the colorful spheres are lip balms made by E.O.S aka Evolution Of Smooth.

Sweet Mint E.O.S Lip Balm (Mint Green Colored Sphere) and Strawberry Sorbet E.O.S Lip Balm (Pink Colored Sphere)

This is what the lip balm looks like when you open it.

The E.O.S Lip Balm Spheres cost 2.99 each @ Target.  I love mint flavored lip balms. So, I tossed the Sweet Mint E.O.S Lip Balm (Mint Green Colored Sphere) and Strawberry Sorbet E.O.S Lip Balm (Pink Colored Sphere) into my cart. Then finished up my latest shopping trip and headed to the car. Then, I broke open the package of the E.O.S Sweet Mint Lip Balm and applied it to my  lips.  I instantly fell in love,  it had a tingled and  tasted liked sweet mint (LOL) as it glided on my lips  like a dream . It was only after applying the lip balm that I checked the package because most lip balms contain junk ingredients. But I ended up being impressed with the ingredients. Unlike other lip balms that are laden with petroleum and other junk. This lip balm sphere is 100% natural and packed with about 95 % organic ingredients.

The ingredients for both the lip balms are listed below

The ingredients for the Sweet Mint E.O.S  Lip Balm

Olive Fruit Oil*, Beeswax *, Coconut Oil*, Jojoba Seed Oil*, Peppermint Oil*, Shea Butter*, Stevia Leaf/Stem Extract*, Vitamin E, Limonene, Linalool.

All of the ingredients of the E.O.S Lip balms with an asterisk beside it are * Organic Ingredients Certified Organic by the Oregon Tilth.

The ingredients for the Strawberry Sorbet E.O.S Lip Balm

Olive Fruit Oil*, Beeswax, Coconut Oil*, Jojoba Seed Oil*, Natural Flavor, Shea Butter*, Stevia Leaf/Stem Extract*, Vitamin E, Sunflower Seed Oil*, Strawberry Fruit Extract*, Limonene, Linalool.

All of the ingredients of the E.O.S Lip balms with an asterisk beside it are * Organic Ingredients Certified Organic by the Oregon Tilth.

Red Velvet's Verdict
                                                       *Drum Roll Please*

The Pros

Even though, it has beeswax in the lip balm it doesn't feel waxy. My lips feel soft and moisturized(Even after the lip balm has worn off my lips). All they're lip balms are flavored. Not that I am eating the lip balms or constantly licking my lips LOL. But they're lip balms actually smell and taste good.  The design for the balm is kinda of cool. The lip balm spheres except for the Lemon Drop SPF15 lip balm are 100% natural and packed with about 95 % organic ingredients.Even with continuous use their lip balms sphere can  last a long time. I've had both lip balms spheres for more than a month and still have a lot of lip balm left.

The Cons

The only issue that I have is the sphere is a little too easy to open. My little mini natural hair diva who is under 2 yrs. old has figured out how to open and attempt to use my E.O.S lip balm spheres. So, I have to make sure I keep my purse out of reach because she has become quite handy with opening the zippers and the buttons on my purses. Below, you can see the damage she caused to my Sweet Mint Lip Balm Sphere.

You can see my little one took a bite out of crime....LOL

Oo La Laaa! Cantu Shea Butter Growth Strengthening Treatment Product Review

Finally! I've found something that actually works for me. My hair is very hard to moisturize. In order to keep my hair moisturized, I find myself doing lots of overnight oil treatments. Now I don't have to do them so often because I found a product called "Cantu Shea Butter Grow Strong-Strengthening Treatment".

I got this moisturizer/treatment because it promotes growth & strengthens hair. It also protects your hair from heat damage and can be used as daily leave-in treatment . This creamy based moisturizer/treatment does it all for me. I love this product because it doesn't leave any build up in my hair. The Cantu Shea Butter Grow Strong Strengthening Treatment is also thick enough to keep my hair and scalp moisturized. and it smells really good. I got this 6.1 oz plastic jar for about $4.00 at Wal-Mart. The bigger ones cost  about $7.00 and the Cantu Shea Butter Hair Care Line have different treatments for different purposes. This is something that I will purchase again and again because it's in my price range and it works really well on my hair. I have braids in right now and this cream doesn't product build up on my braids leaving them looking white and crusty. You can put it in your hair with or without braids and it will be just fine. I love this product and I just wanted to share hope you try it out, enjoy!
